To Zürich authority, I would like to inform that lot of people coming from Portugal holding Portuguese passport but born outside Europe specially people from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, they exchange their fake driving license from those countries to Portuguese license or buy Portuguese license with money then thay change it to Switzerland and making the swiss road dangerous. The authority should take their license seriously.

I disagree with Interlaken being a place to avoid, I fell in love with the city when I first came with my local Scout group from north Wales. I’d go back there again in a hearbeat if ever there was an opportunity.

I am a regular visitor to Switzerland. I would absolutely agree with everything you said in this video. Some supplementary remarks. Avoid the crowds at Iseltwald by going EARLY in the morning. iNTERRAIL passes do not give free travel on buses, mountain ralways or cable cars, But, as an exception to the normal rule, Interrail passes do give free travel on the Brienzersee and Thunersee boats. This exception is explained by the fact that the boats on these two lakes are owned by the BLS railway. If you want to explore the whole of Switzerland from just one base using a Swiss Travel Pass, Interlaken, on a branch line from Spiez, is NOT a good idea. But Spiez itself,on the BLS main line, might be feasible,

Hi , if I choose a golden pass rail from Interlaken to montruex via Gstad .Can I hop off the Gstad and later I can hop on? I am planning to take a saver day pass with half fare card for this route . Pls replay . Google is not giving an accurate answer

I must say this is spot on about Jungfraujoch and Interlaken. All the locals we spoke with told us to avoid the "Top of Europe" and we're glad that we did because we spoke with others who went and said it was overcrowded and wasn't worth the price of admission. Gornegrat rail in Zermatt and Aiguille du Midi were spectacular. We stayed in Interlaken for a night because it's on every single Switzerland list we saw and it is absolutely not a destination to see anything. Harder Kulm was overcrowded and we had to wait an hour to go up for an average Swiss view, probably my least favorite Switzerland experience and we saw way better views all over Switzerland. The lakes are beautiful but Interlaken is not what we expected after hearing so much about it. Grindelwald was spectacular and we wished we stayed there instead and ended up spending much more time in the region in Grindelwald. These are very good tips thank you guys

Hi. I am going to Swiss from 31 Oct to 5 Nov. This are the three cities that I will be visiting which are Zurich 1N, Lucerne 2N and Interlaken 2N. I most likely will be going to Mt Pilatus, Jungfrau, probably 1 or 2 lake ride and 1 or 2 museums. On 5 Nov, I am going to travel from Interlaken to Italy, Milan. Many years motorcycling through Switzerland (avatar pic in the Lauterbrunnen). I remember trying to find a back road into Grindelwald coming out of Meiringen. I turned a corner and the valley opened up with the Rosenlaui in the background. I was absolutely stunned. Got off the bike and took a pic - and have seen many more since taken from about the same spot. Lovely country to jut poke along back roads enjoying the scenery.

We absolutely loved everything we ate there. I had Fondue, Raclette, Alpine Macaroni, Bratwurst, Rosti, Croissants, so many breads I don’t even know their names... Chocolates, Cheeses, Pizza. The Pizza there is so much better than anything we can get in the US! Some more of my favorites were Spitzbueben and Apricot kuchen. I love anything apricot, and there was a lot! The alpine macaroni and fondue were at the top of my list for sure. I’m trying to figure out how I can come back as soon as possible... So in a way it just felt like I was home, even though I had never been there before. 😋🌏🍕

Great video!!! Now I'm hungry! here are some additional favorites of mine - aka things I miss living abroad: - Mostbröckli: kind of like Bündnerfleisch but less dry. It's from the Appenzell region of Switzerland - Vermicelle: Especially as coupe Nesselrode with Vanille Ice Cream and Whipped Cream - Rüblicake: I grew up in Kanton Aargau the Rübli region, best Carrot Cake, many parts of the world have carrot cakes, but I have never found them as good as how they make them in Switzerland. - Gottlieber Hüppen: thin Wafers baked and rolled into 'Straws' filled with Chocolate - Blood and liver sausages: love them especially with Sauerkraut: I know not everyone likes them - Berner Schlachtplatte: during fall season (I often miss-translate the word Schlacht as it can mean butcher or battle - so a Bernese battle plate. 😋🌏

Thanks for the info! We’re visiting St. Moritz (via train from Bormio IT) in January. Debating whether to rent a car in St. Moritz to drive to Lake Coma then then onto Milan to fly home to US or take a train from St. Moritz to Milan and then rent a car to visit Lake Como. It looks like an easy straight shot via car but did not consider that the passes could be closed. Is that the case with this route? Any advise or tips on how we can figure this out before we leave? If the car drive is going to be 4 hours I might want to avoid the rental hassle and take the train or bus. Thanks!

If you train Munich to Prague for example, buy your ticket on the Czech railway website not the German DB site. Why? The German site will charge you more even though it is a Czech train. We also went from Basel in Switzerland to Colmar, France. Charming town. The ticket was a little cheaper on the French website SNF than the SBB website of Switzerland. A French train as well. Internet service on the German railways is pretty good at times and the Czech train was good at times! Austrain rail internet was very good! Swiss rail internet sucked! Period! They can do better! Why? Switzerland is rich and you see it as you cross borders. The Zurich airport has a 4 hour free internet limit. Lame! They can open it up! Switzerland is rich! Why? Dubai is rich! Why? Because when I fill up my gas tank in the USA my money goes to Dubai. Switzerland has our money. Swiss banks! The rich of the world legal and illegal have their money hidden in Swiss banks! Few questions asked about those funds?🤔😂 So, Switzerland has money to loan for Swiss rail and other projects. Am I wrong? So I think 😅 Cheers!

We were in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland and France and we never used Swiss Francs. We did get some Euros and Czech crowns but generally did not need cash but here in the USA I use little cash😮. Bitcoin? As we left Zurich airport bag claim there were ads for Bitcoin!🤔😡🤣🙏? Surprised me. The bathroom having to pay sucks! Especially in Switzerland. Richest country in the world. Stupid! Tip! Use your train bathroom just before you get to your destination. Credit cards? One of mine would work some places other places not at all. Had to use another. The KFC at Bern train station would not accept any of my 4 credit cards. 😮 Odd? We went elsewhere. Tip? Buy food at Lidl and avoid sit down restaurants. Switzerland is 25 to 35 per cent higher than the US I felt. From my travels I would live in Austria if I had too😊

We took the train to Basel only to catch a train to Colmar, France. Colmar is a wonderful little town about an hour or hour and a half from Basel. The change in culture from Switzerland to France was very interesting. 😊

Get this, we went through a 7 mile long tunnel in Austria and a 7 mile tunnel in Switzerland. There is also a 35 mile long tunnel in Switzerland into Italy. Like the chunnel amazing. We did not travel on the French TVG in Colmar France but saw the train. One man said Paris is a 5 hour drive from Colmar. That TVG or TGV he said was just 2 hours to Paris!!😮😊😊

I bought 1 adult pass and one youth pass for 8 days US $823. We went Zurich Bern. Bern Geneva. Bern Lucerne. Bern Grindewald. Grindewald Lauterbrunnen. Bern Basel. Grindewald Zermatt. Then returned back to Bern each day and finally back to Zurich airport(shopping center!😊) We took a free boat ride on Laje Geneva and one on Lake Lucerne. We took one 50 per cent off Mannlequin cable car. ( That top of the world Jungofraut is gag me $270 CHF 😮) so it would have been $270 Francs for 2. Too expensive. Mannlequin was good enough at $68 for 2.😊 Our hotel was outside Bern at the Zollikofen train station so we did that twice many days.Bern Zollikofen. We also went into 2 musuems no additional charge. So? Would the 50 per cent off pass been better? Maybe but then you have to spend time buying tickets on the internet. This pass was easier. The conductors just scanned a bar code that we screened shot onto our phones from the emessage receipt. Make sure you have a ticket. It is a honor system but conductirs are asking for tickets! 100 Franc fine if no ticket I hear? European rail is amazing especially Swiss rail.😊 Cheers!
